Mexico Meetings Netwok

Michoacan was one of the first states created by New Spain. It was once inhabited primarily by the Aztec’s powerful rivals, the Purepecha people whose art, crafts and cuisine still infuse the culture this beautiful state.

Today, Michoacan is one of Mexico’s biggest agricultural producers. With vast (though diminishing) pine forests that are the winter home to the Monarch butterflies that arrive here from Canada each fall, majestic rivers and lakes that provide  the central part of the state with fresh fish, there´s lots to see and experience in Michoacan.

Lovely weather and colonial heritage make Michoacan´s capital city, Morelia,  a great location for any event. The nearby gem of a colonial town, Patzcuaro set on Lake Patzcuaro is a must to visit and a perfect setting for pre or post-event activities.

The Convention and Exposition Center of Morelia has 9 event spaces that can accommodate 10 to 1,600 people and 15,239 square feet of exposition space. The Hotel Fiesta Inn is inside the Convention center and has  253 guestrooms. Also in Morelia, the Events and Conventions Cantabria has 5 event halls that can accommodate up to 1,139 individuals, and the Real Events and Conventions Center has 1,371 square feet of event space that can accommodate up to 500 individuals. The  Villa San Jose Hotel and Sites in Morelia offers 43 luxury guestrooms, a picturesque garden and pool area, as well as event space for up to 200 people. The city of Morelia has a total of 3,000 guestrooms spread across the city.

Morelia International Airport has direct flights to and from Mexico City, Houston and Los Angeles.
